What are the Riverside County event restroom requirements?
Riverside County events that serve food must have toilets and handwashing within 200 feet of food booths, under CA Health & Safety Code §114315. Public events need at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit per cluster and 5% of the total. We checked these rules in October 2026; confirm with your permit office.

How far from food booths do event restrooms need to be?
California Health & Safety Code §114315 says a food facility needs an approved toilet and handwashing within 200 feet of travel distance. Riverside County's temporary food guidance uses the same 200-foot line. Measure walking distance, not a straight line across a fence or creek.
Both sources are linked in the rules table above. Face restroom doors away from food and from the west wind, and set handwash stations next to the toilets.
How many toilets does a nonprofit food booth need?
Under CA Health & Safety Code §114332.2, nonprofit temporary food facilities need 1 toilet per 15 food workers within 200 feet. That count is for food workers only, not guests. A church fair with 30 volunteers cooking needs at least 2 toilets for them, plus enough for the crowd.

How many wheelchair-accessible porta potties does an event need?
Plan at least 1 wheelchair-accessible porta potty in each cluster and at least 5% of all units. California CBC 11B-213.2 says 5 percent, but no fewer than 1. Accessible units need firm, level ground about 7.5 × 7.5 ft. Book them 7–14 days ahead.
Our units are wheelchair-accessible, built to ADA design guidelines; confirm with your venue. See wheelchair-accessible porta potty rental.
Does Riverside County set a guest-to-toilet ratio for events?
Riverside County publishes no attendee-to-toilet ratio that we could find in October 2026. So we use our dispatch rule: 1 standard unit per 50 guests for up to 4 hours, more for longer events and alcohol. Only 6 of 334 callers asked us about permits at all.
